  • 1948


    Wilfried Heinzel AG was founded by the Austrian entrepreneur Wilfried Heinzel. At that time, the initial focus of the company’s business operations was on barter and triangular transactions, the import of chemicals for the pulp and paper industry and the export of finished products.

  • 1963


    Acquisition of factories Laakirchen AG and Bunzl & Biach AG (Austria). These plants primarily produced graphic paper, tissue and special papers, and the industrial support enabled the Group to achieve further growth on international markets.

  • 1988


    Laakirchen Paper Mill sold to the Swedish company Svenska Cellulosa AB (SCA).

  • 1991


    Leveraged buyout of Wilfried Heinzel AG by Heinzel Holding GmbH & Partners.

  • 1996


    Sales office network expansion in CEE countries and overseas.

  • 1998


    Sales offices opened in Spain, Brazil and Russia

  • 2003


    New network offices in Germany and Turkey.

    Celebration of the 60th anniversary of Heinzel Group.

    New network office in the U.S. for the South American markets, acquisition of North Rim Pulp and Paper in Canada, new sales office in China.

    New network office in Morocco and re-opening of sales presence in Spain.
